Home - Projects - Stamping Cards - Jewel Card Hearts Jewel Card HeartsDescriptionA Hobby Art Hearts jewel rubber stamp is stamped in gold on two shades of pink. Several layers are created, cut out and assembled as a decoupage to produce a beautiful card that would suit many occasions. Materials used
MethodTake two sheets of card stock in different shades of pink. Stamp and emboss four images of the Hobby Art Jewel image in gold, two on each colour of card. The method for stamp embossing is as follows. Use a clear or tinted embossing ink pad. Stamp your design and while the ink is still wet sprinkle gold embossing powder over the entire design. Tap off excess on to a sheet of paper, this can then be returned to the jar for reuse. Heat the design to activate the powder. This is usually done with a heat tool. Keep the tool moving with circular motions so you do not overheat one spot. The design will become raised and shiny. This should take about 30 seconds. When the card has cooled off you can cut out the shapes with scissors or a craft knife. The intricate design of jewel stamps makes them suitable for producing several layers of decoupage work. We have chosen to alternate dark and light shades of pink card. The cutout shapes ready to be assembled. Make a single fold greetings card from one shade of the card stock. Our greetings card is 127 mm square (5 inches). Mount the layers of the jewel on the front of the card with double-sided mini foam pads to give a 3-dimensional effect. As a finishing touch five small pink gemstones are added to the middle of the design. This picture shows an alternative colour way and a rotated jewel.
