Happy Valentines Card

Description

A textured natural white greetings card has a large heart cut from red corrugated card mounted in relief on foam pads. The lower part of the card is decorated with a strip of red paper with a punched border design in white paper. This is topped with a gold chain border sticker. Small red hearts and a gold Happy Valentine sticker complete the design.

Materials used

• Textured natural white single fold greetings card 104 x 152 mm (4¼ x 6 ins.)
• Sheet of thin red card
• Sheet of white paper
• Sticker gold chain border
• Sticker gold Happy Valentine
• Fiskers continuous border punch heart
• Small heart punch
• Die-cut heart of red corrugated card
• Red felt tip pen
• Double-sided self-adhesive mini foam pads
• Sticky dots adhesive
• Card adhesive

Method

Use the Fiskers heart border punch to make a design on both edges of a strip of white paper so it ends up about 25 mm (1 in.) wide by 155 mm (6¼ ins.) long.

Mount this on a strip of red paper with Sticky dots adhesive. Trim the red strip to 30 mm (1¼ in) wide by 155 mm (6¼ ins.) long.

Mount the red strip along the lower edge of the greetings card with card adhesive. Trim each end to fit the greetings card.

Add a strip of chain border sticker along the centre of the punched strip.

Mount the die-cut red corrugated heart above the red strip in a central position using double-sided self-adhesive mini foam pads. The heart is from an accessory pack that contains hearts of various sizes and colours, or you could cut your own.

Add a gold Happy Valentine sticker using the illustration as a guide. A gold heart from the same sticker sheet is added to the card in the centre of the corrugated red heart.

Punch five small hearts from red paper and mount them on the card with adhesive using the illustration as a guide.

Run a red felt tip pen along the edges of the front of the greetings card.
